Annie Denver & John Denver
The late singer and songwriter John Denver was an icon in the music industry. His well-crafted songs remain favorites for many even today. Aside from finding inspiration in nature, he also considered his wife, Annie Martell, as his muse. The two first met in 1966, after Denver performed at the same Minnesota college Martell was a sophomore in. They hit it off instantly and were married just a year after. The pair would also later adopt two children. For a period of time, they lived close to the mountains of Colorado.
You might think that this is the beginning of a lasting love story, but that isn’t the case for the pair. The two spent many years together, and Denver even penned Annie’s Song for his wife. However, in 1982, following years of infidelity, Martell sought help from lawyers to finalize their separation.
