Kristy McNichol & Martie Allen

It isn’t easy for LGBTQ actors in Hollywood to readily admit their relationships. This is especially true for Kristy McNichol, who came out as a lesbian back in 2012. In the same year, she also proudly admitted her nearly two-decade relationship with Martie Allen. McNichol is a former actress, comedian, and singer who managed to achieve great success. She is perhaps best known as Buddy Lawrence in the TV series Family. To her credit, McNichol also won two Emmy Awards for her performance on the show. Allen is a former TV personality, but her career was quite short-lived in comparison.

McNichol retired from the entertainment business after 24 years and now enjoys a more private life with her wife. Reports suggest that they still reside in Los Angeles, where McNichol works as a private acting school. The couple also runs a charity together.
