Whether you remember him as private detective Thomas Magnum from the classic 1980s T.V. series Magnum, P.I. or as Monica’s love interest Richard from Friends, Tom Selleck is one of Hollywood’s most honored performers. Despite his prominent degree, he had a series of bad luck regarding his female relationships. Selleck’s fate, however, came knocking in the form of the musical Cats, where he met his soulmate, Jillie Joan Mack. But how did their incredible love story begin?

Tom was in London working for his movie when the two met. His crew friends accompanied him to the London production of Cats, where his heart was stuck on one of the kittens. Because of his regular visits to see the show, he set up a dinner appointment with Jillie. The two finally became friends and began dating. Mack then went to Hawaii after finishing her contracts with Cats. They began to appear together in public places soon after, including award shows and Tom’s Hollywood Walk of Fame.
